Add/Edit Receiver Setup

Hardware

We support a TCP-mapped version of the ASTERIX CAT21 protocol. Please contact us for further information.
Warning The preferred mode of operation is our feeder! See here for instructions on how to install or use the it. With our feeder you do NOT need to register your receiver. It will be added to your profile automatically. Moreover, you do not need to open a port on your firewall. Register your receiver here, only if you want to stick with your plain dump1090 installation.

We support the following forks of dump1090:
Most Raspberry Pi images are using the mutability fork.
Only untick this if you need us to pull the data from the device for some reason (e.g. firewall settings). Note that you need to be able to provide a URL or IP address at which your receiver can be reached by our servers via the Internet. Using a push feeder is our preferred way of feeding data to our network.

Either use the built in feeder functionality (if available) or install our feeder on the device. See here for installation instructions.

Please note that your SBS-3 must run a firmware version greater or equal to V119. For update instructions, see this video. You can use the BaseStation software for the SBS-3 receiver to set up client mode. The SBS-3 should connect to IP 194.209.200.3 and port 10010.
Provide the IP address/URL of your device. Note that our servers must be able to connect to your device, so you have to enable port forwarding (NAT) if you are behind a router. Also, most Internet providers reset the connection once per day and the IP is subject to change. Therefore, we recommend to use a free dynamic DNS service (e.g. No-IP).
Enter the port for your device. Defaults: 30005 (dump1090), 10002-10006 (Radarcape), 30003 (SBS-3)

Claim Your Device

We would like to maintain receiver rankings and statistics of your device and link them to your account. To identify your device underneath all incoming connections, we need some extra information. To identify your SBS-3, please provide the serial number that can be found on one of the stickers on the bottom side of the device. It is the number below the barcode without leading zeros. See the example image below. To identify your Radarcape, please provide the MAC address of your device. You will find the address on the sticker on the bottom of your device. See the example image below.

Location

Set on Map Enter the address of your receiver's location here. The requested format is street + house number, zip code + city, country, e.g. Example Street 25, 1234 Doetown, Austria. Click the button to set the marker in the map. You can fine-tune the marker's position manually. Longitude, latitude and altitude of your location are retrieved automatically.

Please use the following fields to refine the coordinates of the antenna of your receiver. The coordinates should be accurate to the 4th decimal place.

Privacy

The location of your receiver is stored along with its data on our server. That means, if we hand out raw data to researchers, it may contain the coordinates of your receiver. If you wish to conceal the location of your receiver, please tick this box. In that case, we will remove the location when handing out raw data. In any case, we never give out names or identities of our feeders!
