What's the legal situation concerning the reception of Mode S and ADS-B in your jurisdiction?

In the UK for example, as far as we know (but we are not lawyers!), section 48 of the Wireless Telegraphy Act 2006 could be used to argue against the legality of reception of non-broadcast Mode S messages. Non-squittered all call replies, for instance, technically have an addressee (the interrogator).
