REST reply limitations

2 weeks 4 days ago #2797 by zedrummer
Hello I'm a French ATC
I've just set up my ADS-B device and connected it to OpenSky.
My Windows/Linux code (for entertainment purpose for now) using the REST method to get and display own state vectors is working well but some traffic is missing.
The fact that my antenna is in my house which is low level (altitude ~ 185m) is certainly one of the reasons, but I was wondering if it could be due to some limitations in the length of the REST replies?
If so, is there a way to filter the returned own state vectors (latitude, longitude and altitude) so that unneeded traffic wouldn't fill the replies?
Thank you
David

Hi,

What do you mean with "some traffic is missing"? How did you establish that?

Thanks to answer.
I can not provide images in my messages, but I have 2 captures one from my program and another one from FR24 where at least 2 commercial planes high altitude (>FL200) are missing.
So there are no limitations on the replies?

No, there are no length limitations. If you get your own state vectors, it should be the same as you see locally in your dump1090 instance.
