Access to historical data

How does one get access to any part of the historical data?

I tried to step back in the past but got a message that beyond one hour in the past one can see only one's uploaded data, not any data.

If that's true then how is historical data made "available to researchers from different fields"?

Usually people approach us and explain their research project. We then figure out together if OpenSky's data matches the requirements and which data they need exactly. Researchers then either get raw sensor data or we grant them access to an SQL-like database (Impala) which allows for querying the whole dataset.
