I am one of the developers of the openSkies R package for retrieval and analysis of air traffic data. Some time ago, we added functionalities to decode raw ADS-B messages to our package, following detailed documentation about the structure of ADS-B messages such as
mode-s.org/decode/content/ads-b/1-basics.html
We have recently become interested in adding functionalities to decode FLARM messages, which I have seen are available through the Impala shell, but I have not been able to find detailed documentation about the message structure. So I was wondering if anybody could point me towards an appropriate source?
