Hey guys. Currently my receiver is connected to the internet via an umts-stick (3G network). So there is no opportunity for me to forward ports etc. Feeding data to flightaware is no problem because of it's own feeder. Do you have plans to develop your own opensky feeder which sends data to your server instead of pulling data from our stations?

Best,

Andy

Hi Andy,

we're working on it. Since we're doing it in our spare time, the development is a bit slow :-)

The first version will be a .deb package for Debian-based installations (Ubuntu, Raspbian, ...) running dump1090. Would this match your setup?

Cheers,
Matthias

Hey Matthias,

nice to hear that. A package for Raspbian would fit (using dump1090 on a pi 3).

At the moment I only feed data to flightaware (de.flightaware.com/adsb/stats/user/achan011) and will switch back to opensky if the feeder is ready.

Bye bye

I'm interested in a feeder also. Currently, I am running 3 Raspis with Flightaware-ProStick(Plus) using dump1090-fa. The feeder would allow for operation at locations, where port forwarding is not possible due to missing administrator privileges. Additionally, using the current position of the gpsd daemon if running would allow for testing coverage using a mobile setup at different locations like viewing platforms or on top of a hill.

An alternative to the feeder could be to run an instance of dump1090 without receiver on a system with fixed public IP address or a dynamic dns hostname and feeding data from the UMTS setup by using modesmixer2 or netcat to this host where data can be collected by opensky-network.

Beta version is ready! I'll send it to you for final testing.

The feeder seams to work reliably, but the range area plot does not appear for fed data and the fed data does not appear in the sensor ranking.

same here

edit: As well there is no way to change the LON/LAT via webinterface cause of the empty hostname. Reconfigure on the pi doesn't change the position.

Now, the coverage area plot is working for the data from the feeders.

Yes, but there is only range available for the current day. Also missing are #Aircrafts etc. for Yesterday and day before and so on. The stats of seen aircrafts are only available for the current day.

The real-time ranges and statistics are coming from a different subsystem than the ones for the past. Seems like the subsystem for the past is ignoring data from sensors with negative serial numbers. Bug is on our list. Thanks for pointing out.
