Hi,

Is there somewhere that describes what the different windows of your receiver profile. Most appear self explanatory but what does the covered area represent, how is the figure per day reached??

That's a good point. There's no detailed explanation on the statistics available, yet. I quickly compiled the following lines. I guess it's a good idea to improve the description and include it in the receiver profile:

Availability
Sensor is available iff it sent us a Mode-S message within one minute. Periods where this holds are blue, offline periods are red.

Directional Range (Radar Chart)
For each degree around your receiver we compute the 95-percentile of distances as derived from ADS-B position reports. The chart is computed on a daily basis and, at time of writing, reset every night.

Directional Range (Bar Chart)
Shows the minimum and maximum distance of the last seven days based on the same data used for the radar chart.

Covered Area
The area covered by the polygon which is defined by the coordinates of the directional range.

Number of Messages
Total number of messages received for the given days

Max Message Rate vs Avg Message Rate
Shows the maximum and average message rate for a given day. Aggregations are computed using a sliding window.

Live Message Rate
Current message rate in messages per second.

Message Rate
Past message rates (in messages per second) with a resolution of five minutes. As such, the value represents the average message rates within a five-minute interval.

Number of Aircraft
Distinct transponder addresses seen on a daily basis.

Max Number of Aircraft vs Avg Number of Aircraft
Computed by counting distinct transponder addresses seen within a sliding window of one minute. The chart gives the maximum and average number of distinct transponders seen on a certain day.

Number of Aircraft
Past number of aircraft seen with a resolution of five minutes. The value is computed by counting distinct transponder addresses in a five-minute interval and shows an average value in aircraft per minute.

Average Messages per Plane
Based on Number of Aircraft and Message Rate from above, this chart gives the average number of messages per second we get from each aircraft. It is computed as an average value over five minutes.

Collected Mode-S Messages
Shows the number total number of messages received by day and the cumulative number of messages (=total number of messages received until the given day).

Mode S Message Type Distribution
A pie chart visualizing the distribution of different Mode-S downlink formats.

Mode S Message Counts
A bar chart visualizing the distribution of different Mode-S downlink formats (same data as above).

ADS-B Message Type Distribution
A pie chart visualizing the distribution of different ADS-B message formats. ADS-B messages are a sub set of the Mode-S messages described above. They are contained in Downlink Format 17/18 (Extended Squitter).

ADS-B Message Counts (Selected Day)
A bar chart visualizing of different ADS-B message formats based on the same data as for the pie chart above.

Hope that helps!
