Forum editing capabilities... was created by espin

Is there any plugins/modules available to allow (Github Flavoured) Markdown capabilities in the forum?
(similar to Stack overflow or Github issues/wikis...just used to these so that OSN Forum seems so alien,...sorry no offense intended)

I found an open issue from 2011 on markdown support in Kunena forums:

github.com/Kunena/Kunena-Forum/issues/32

The motivated "Version 2.0" tag was removed some time along the way (current Kunena Version is 5.x). So I guess, no, there is no markdown support available
